The plucky Italian plumber we all know and love appeared in the self-titled Super Mario Bros 25 years ago today. Here's to a happy anniversary!

He may have started out as a carpenter and been called Jumpman but thankfully his creators saw sense and Mario was born!

To mark the occasion, we at Megabits have tracked down some of the greatest video homages to the mustachioed protagonist. The Family Guy video and nod to MTV show Jersey Shore are firm favourites!!!
