There's been a deluge of top racing games already this year but another much-anticipated release is now under starter's orders... F1 2010 from Codemasters is due to hit the shelves on 24 September and is a likely contender for pole position in the charts.

After the likes of Split\Second and Blur, it's kind of refreshing to have a real racing sim coming out again. And I reckon it looks fantastic - fully licensed and featuring the official drivers, teams and 19 circuits from the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship. There's the usual career mode, online multiplayer and... wait for it... it claims to have the most advanced weather effects in any racing game!
